Job Description

Job Summary

The Route Coordinator assists route drivers in providing prompt, efficient and courteous service to all customers through utilization of routing system.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assigns and organizes driver routes ensuring route efficiency based on stops and route costs; forecast customer pick ups and driver scheduling for customers.
  • Utilizes Roadnet Transportation Suite & PeopleNet software routing/navigation systems optimizing fleet routing and scheduled based on specific customer parameters.
  • Completes daily and weekly reports on tickets, costs, and routing.
  • Tracks and re-routes missed customer pick-ups daily; routes call-ins according to customer needs and efficiency of routing.
  • Coordinates Mobile Wash Unit and Tank Delivery to customer's site for cleaning, painting, tank pickup and delivery with input and follow-up from Customer Service Representative.
  • Maintains current customer accounts through personal and telephone contact ensuring quality service to each customer in coordination with Customer Service Representative.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Demonstrated work experience using computers.
  • Route sales and/or routing system experience strongly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Route sales and/or routing system experience preferred.
  • Works well with others in a team environment.
  • Communicates clearly in verbal and written form.
  • Highly organized; superior time management skills.
  • Strong math and computer skills.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, bend, and kneel
  • Frequently lifts up to 10 lbs.
  • Regularly required reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment

Job functions will be carried out at a plant location, office environment, Darling vehicle or personal vehicle, and in customer locations.
