Salary: $23.09 per hour

H&W Rate: $4.47/hour worked, up to 40 hours per week

  • This position is Service Contract Act which is subject to Health & Welfare benefits

SUMMARY:

A General Maintenance Worker performs preventative maintenance and repairs of equipment and buildings within such trades as plumbing, electrical work, heating and air conditioning, painting, and general facilities work.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform preventative maintenance of multiple types of equipment.
  • Perform general maintenance and repairs as required on equipment and machinery.
  • Replaces electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors.
  • Inspect buildings and equipment for needed maintenance or repairs.
  • Document and communicate identified maintenance needs and repairs.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and a min of 3 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Computer skills required: Basic computer skills
  • Mechanical Aptitude
  • Applied analytical skills to recognize when a specialized trade is needed for various tasks
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to lift, up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities
  • Driver's License
  • Be able to travel daily as required to different sites
  • Be able to travel out of town 1-3 nights per month as required

  • Required to drive work vehicles (Large Pickup Trucks)
  • Required to drive scissor lift (training can be provided)
  • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; Peripheral vision; depth perception and ability to adjust focus
