Job Objective
The DCS Data Visualization Specialist will support the Office of the Chief Data Officer (OCDO) with its core mission including the advancement of the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Data Strategy.
Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain intuitive, engaging, and accurate data visualizations to decision makers at all levels of USCIS in a timely manner. A key outcome is that these visualizations provide easy to understand insights about data so that stakeholders can make data driven decisions. The offeror must support the creation of dashboards that use narrative and storytelling and are interactive. The offeror must provide dashboard designs that comply with OCDO and USCIS standard templates and design guidance.
  • Support for geospatial data and visualization products, tasks could include providing spatial data analysis, data visualization (advanced mapping), and cartography using Government provided GIS technologies. Leverage geospatial data formats and understanding of map projections and geodetic concepts to employ into visualization products.
  • Support and develop processes for data visualization development and implementation including enterprise-wide standards. Develop and implement strategies to communicate visualization goals and objectives to stakeholders across USCIS and validate appropriateness and completeness of data visualizations.
  • Identify, collect, and curate organizational knowledge about data sets, visualizations, and visualization tools.
  • Implement systemic strategies for knowledge acquisition, including capturing knowledge about data sets, visualizations, and visualization tools from subject matter experts, documentation, and other sources.
  • Continuously update and maintain the knowledge base to reflect changes and advancements in Business Intelligence and Data Visualization.
Education & Certification
  • BA/BS or MA/MS degree required
