Inside Sales Representative

DIRECT REPORTING: Manager of Technical Sales

Position Summary

Inside Sales Rep provides management and oversight of U.S. Navy valve projects from the request for quotation (RFQ) through product delivery and post-installation testing. The Account Manager serves as a single point of contact for the customer's purchasing, engineering, operations, and quality departments. The Account Manager is responsible for managing or directly providing customer service and inside sales support. The Account Manager also provides technical assistance and support and value selection of products for various applications taking into consideration price and availability, consulting with other internal stakeholders when required.

Principal Activities

  • Leads cross-functional team in a matrix organization to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of products to U.S. Navy ship construction prime contractors. These teams will include engineering, planning, purchasing, operations, quality, and warehouse personnel.
  • Reviews customer requests for U.S. Navy project quotations considering factory capability, factory capacity, and financial results.
  • Prepares and submits written (verbal where appropriate) quotations for U.S. Navy project customers and representatives in accordance with CIRCOR and customer requirements.
  • Finalizes negotiation with customers. Knowledge of T&C is necessary.
  • Facilitates proactive communications with the customers throughout the duration of the project to ensure project status is known by all stakeholders.
  • Facilitates addressing customer inquiries throughout the duration of the project. These inquiries include, but are not limited to, technical information, quotations, purchase orders, quality performance, schedule performance, continuous improvement activities, overall project execution, project completion, shipping methods, tracking numbers, freight charges, pricing, and availability.
  • Monitors quality ratings provided by customers and facilitates addressing customer concerns in a timely fashion to ensure satisfaction is maintained.
  • Serves as a technical resource and has the organizational agility to find answers and solve problems.
  • Recommends product or service enhancements to improve customer's satisfaction and sales potential.
  • Acts as Customers' advocate within the organization and is accountable for Customer Satisfaction.
  • Document sales and marketing activities along with tracking of opportunities.
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities assigned by management.

Job Requirements:

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong commitment to process and procedure adherence.5 years' experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • 2-4 years' technical customer service experience in manufacturing support.
  • 5 years' experience in a technical environment. Familiar with standard manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • In-depth understanding of concepts and principles in customer service. Able to solve routine and complex problems using information sources provided, or by conceptual and innovative thinking, with or without supervision.
  • Self-starter, organized, thorough, and meticulous.
  • Able to plan and prioritize work to meet demanding customer and internal deadlines.
  • Able to maintain a high level of accuracy producing quality work when working under pressure.
  • Ability to lead by influence.
  • Intermediate data entry skills and is proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors of Science degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution, with at least five years' relevant experience.
  • Other experience will be considered. Significant work experience can be substituted for educational requirements on a case-by-case basis.
