Zoetis Reference Laboratories (ZRL) is currently seeking a full time veterinary clinical microbiologist to oversee the Microbiology Services for the national ZRL network of laboratories (multiple US locations). Zoetis Reference lab is a division of Zoetis Global Diagnostics. Responsibilities of this role will include medical oversight of the national Microbiology and Molecular services, including oversight of medical aspects of technician processes, training and execution, development and periodic review of SOPs, selection of/consultation on equipment and new innovations, and participation in the Quality Management System in order to deliver reliable, high-quality, medically accurate results to customers. Some interpretation of microbiology results as well as consultation with ZRL colleagues and veterinarian customers is also expected. The need for consultation and support of other ZRL departments and Global Diagnostics initiatives may arise periodically, including commercial activities, such as development and/or delivery of educational content to customers and sales associates. A positive, constructive, collaborative, and forward-thinking approach is critical and the Head of Microbiology must be able to effectively participate in and sometimes spear-head cross-functional management initiatives. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, a passion for supporting the veterinary community and an ability to be flexible and adapt in this rapidly changing industry.
