Joint Information Coordination Cell Support

This position requires an active Secret clearance.

The Joint Information Coordination Cell Support shall assist in the operations of the CONR-1 AF (AFNORTH/AFSPACE)/JICC and Global Command and Control System (GCCS) Common Operational Picture (COP) Cell positions/ equipment as well as their respective architectures.

Joint Information Coordination Cell Support Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform data link activity status for (to include but is not limited to) the Pentagon, NORAD, EADS, WADS, U.S. Fleet Forces Command (USFFC), 3rd FLEET, Alaskan NORAD Region (ANR), Canadian NORAD Region (CANR), Joint Air Defense Operations Center (JADOC), Airborne Early Warning Systems (AEWS), deployed Air Control Squadron (ACS) and the 263AAMDC Minimum Deployment Package (MDP) ISO POTUS movements, NSSE and SEAR events.
  • Ensure data link equipment/COP hardware is operational for (to include but is not limited to) the Joint Range Extension (JRE), Air Defense System Integrator (ADSI), GCCS, Theater Battle Management Core Systems (TBMCS), Multifunctional Information Distribution System (MIDS) LVT 11 terminal and future MIDS - Joint Tactical Radio System (MIDS JTRS), Situational Awareness Data Link (SADL), Link Management and Monitoring Tool and Secure Telephone Equipment (STE). This position will be required to handle Communications Security cryptographic keying materials and use the Simple Key Loader (SKL) to load cryptographic keys into required data and voice radios. In addition, this position will be required to inventory and document COMSEC material every shift.
  • Ensure data collected daily by documenting operational status on the Daily Activity Report (DAR), as well as other locations such as various Power Point briefings, DCF Swift chat, Microsoft Documents, and voice reports.
  • Assist the CONR-1 AF (AFNORTH/AFSPACE) Joint Interface Control Officer (JICO) by maintaining an operational qualification CMR), a SECRET security clearance, and staying knowledgeable and current on all operational plans/documents with respect to the planning, fielding, and execution of Tactical Data Link (TDL)/COP architecture and CONR-1 AF (AFNORTH/AFSPACE) operations/mission sets.
  • Follow and regularly review for content all checklists, job aides, and operational procedures to aid in development and advancement of JICO cell operations and capabilities.
  • Assist in the analysis and evaluation of new technologies and concepts pertaining to enhancing information management and communication.
  • Assist in training TDL and COP operations/procedures; manage data coordination/track supervision communications nets; conduct/track data monitoring, operations, and coordination using all command and control (C2) and TDL/COP systems available.
  • Support CONR-1 AF by working a rotating manning (non-core hours) schedule for the 24/7 operation of the JICO cell.
  • Certified as the equivalent of a Track Data Coordinator (TDC) and will execute the roles and responsibilities of that position.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Joint Information Coordination Cell Support Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • A minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience.
  • Track Data Coordination certification and/or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a military or defense-related role is often preferred due to the nature of JICCs, which are commonly associated with military operations.
  • Experience in supporting communication strategies, information dissemination, or public affairs within a military context is valuable.
  • Ability to coordinate and collaborate with various departments, agencies, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and information sharing.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for conveying information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to handle and disseminate information during crisis situations, ensuring accurate and timely communication.
  • Proficiency in managing and organizing information, including data, reports, and other relevant materials.
  • The ability to adapt to changing situations and requirements, especially in dynamic and sometimes high-stakes environments.
  • The ability to think strategically about communication efforts and contribute to the development of communication plans aligned with organizational goals.
  • Collaboration with various agencies and entities, both within and outside the military, to facilitate effective information exchange.
