Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

Draper microelectronics production systems are state-of-the-art class 100 cleanrooms equipped with advanced processing technologies and equipment to manufacture highly sophisticated microelectronic product for defense applications. As Manufacturing Operations Manager, you will:

    Manage day-to-day and week-to-week product movement objectives.
  • Report on operations status and issues to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with process, test, and quality engineering to drive product yield and cycle time improvements across the assigned product portfolio.
  • Work together with technical and engineering teams to automate data collection that will facilitate statistical process control within the factory equipment space.
  • Lead production data capture and analysis required to make data-based decisions for setting and achieving quality, yield, and repetitive process improvement objectives.
  • Coordinate upstream and downstream processes to ensure production performance objectives and schedule are met.
  • Coordinate and integrate multi-functional team-oriented production floor collaboration to drive overall continuous improvement in product quality and that of production process performance.
  • Support product development, technology qualification (including technology transfers), along with production ramp up and yield improvement projects.
  • Be the site's focal point for materials control management, developing close relationships with Draper procurement management to ensure uninterrupted production demand supply sustainment.
  • Be asked to participate in formulating strategy related to improving and scaling performance, output capacity, procuring material and resources, and securing continued overall operational compliance.
  • Mentor your team members, find ways to increase quality of customer service, and implement and shape applicable best practices to the Draper production operation.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Drive efficiency, realization of targets within budget and deadlines, organizational performance, and people management.
  • Drive production schedules and timelines. Accurately establish plant capacity.
  • Work closely with members of Senior Management to align operations with business needs/opportunities.
  • Promote an environment of cooperation and trust.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, mentorship, and develop direct reports to ensure they are skilled and trained to perform their functions in a high-quality and efficient manner.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline. Manufacturing or Industrial engineering a plus.
  • 10 years of experience with semiconductor or wafer fab environment (process integration, modules, yield enhancement, manufacturing process)
  • Experience with process/products launch, managing projects, transfers and qualifications.
  • Ability to bridge different disciplines: manufacturing-process-product.
  • Organizational talent, results-oriented with pro-active attitude, a problem-solver.
  • Knowledge and experience with Statistical Process Control in a production environment
  • Experience leading lean manufacturing and championing continuous improvement within a cleanroom production setting.
  • Experience operating an ISO 9001 and AS9100 manufacturing environment.
  • Experience improving manufacturing operations related to yield, cycle time, on-time delivery, and cutting costs.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US government SECRET or higher security clearance.

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in engineering or business and/or additional education in operations, manufacturing, or materials management.
  • Active SECRET or higher security clearance and the ability to obtain clearance for Special Access Programs
  • Experienced defining and improving production organizational structure and processes.
  • Experience working within a domestic operating company in the DoD or commercial business areas.
  • Experience using ERP systems - Eyelit MES preferred, implementation a plus.

High mix/low volume production experience

  • Experienced in production and inventory control and front-line shop floor control.
  • Experience with materials requirement planning and materials control management.
  • Possess good understanding of supply and demand challenges within a specialized complex supply chain supporting real time repetitive microelectronics manufacturing.
  • Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others, and strong analytical thinking skills.
  • Project management experience
  • Lean Six-Sigma Green or Blackbelt Certification
  • APICS (ASCM) CPIM Certification
