Job Description

The main purpose of this role is to lead and embed a range of people development initiatives. These are required to ensure existing and new auditors globally have the skills and qualifications they require to do their current role and are developed for future roles within IA and across Citi.

This role will have particular focus on talent development programs, enterprise leadership initiatives and new joiner training but there will also be other duties performed that will be shared across the IA L&D team.

The Learning Advisor Lead is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. The individual will be expected to be a recognized technical authority for an area within the business and will require basic commercial awareness. There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter and so, developed communication and diplomacy skills are also required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. The individual will have significant impact on the area through complex deliverables and will provide advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. The work of this individual will impact an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.

Responsibilities:

  • Understands relevant business and HR priorities and opportunities for capability building, performance improvement, cultural development, and overall impact within their region/product/function
  • In partnership with other Learning Advisors, provides management and consulting to Human Resource and business partners and proactively identifies and prioritizes the L&D opportunities to support successful business outcomes.
  • Helps develop and execute learning and development strategy for their region/product/function
  • Conducts the analysis of current versus future state gaps, identifies root causes, determines the appropriate solution and how success should be measured
  • Helps to market, evaluate and communicate the impact of initiatives with HR / Business partners
  • Monitors and communicates progress with other learning colleagues as well as HR / Business partners and navigates any variation in expectations with them
  • Collaborates with colleagues across HR to provide integrated experience for region/product/function partners
  • In partnership with other learning advisors, Implements the strategy for consistently measuring the effectiveness of training
  • Stays abreast to latest external market trends and anticipates their impact on future capability requirements for their region/product/function
  • Is responsible for learning budget for their specific focus area
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency

Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years experience in Learning and Development
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on MS Excel
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented
  • Proven influencing and relationship management skills
  • Advanced project management and prioritization skills
  • Proactive leadership and motivational skills

Education:

  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred

Note that there may be additional or alterative programs suggested based on the skills and experience of the applicant and current skills/knowledge within the IA L&D team.

Additional Qualifications and Competencies

  • Experience from working with Audit, Risk or Compliance would be a distinct advantage
  • Ability to articulate concepts simple and in an engaging format
  • Able to lead and facilitate training virtually or face to face
  • Excellent global stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong PowerPoint skills, experience in developing online training is highly desirable
  • Highly organized, self-disciplined and able to use MI to drive action
  • Able to develop blended virtual learning programs which use social and gamification concepts
  • Innovative and keen to try new ways of doing things
  • Highly adaptable to changing priorities and ambiguity
  • Influential and passionate about Learning and Development
  • Proven track record in ability to engage stakeholders globally, at all levels
  • Experience working in a global, matrixed environment; sensitivity to cultural differences
  • Ability to work well under time pressure
  • Strong analytical and decision making abilities
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with people at all levels of seniority
  • Experience of having run multiple projects concurrently including all related aspects, such as budget, resource, timings etc
  • Ideally qualified at Bachelors level with a HR or L&D related qualification
  • Highly desirable to have a Digital Learning qualification and/or experience of working with Digital Learning software
