Engineer Intern/Construction Engineering Inspector
Halff is seeking certified Engineer Interns (EI) interested in construction management for transportation projects in the Tampa, Florida area to act as our company representative on roadway construction sites ensuring that workmanship and materials comply with specifications. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing assignments in assisting Senior Inspectors in the performance of their duties, and will receive general supervision from the Senior Inspector who reviews work while in progress. We are seeking an Engineer Intern (EI) with a Civil Engineering degree.
Requirements:
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering and Engineer Intern (EI) certification; or
    High school graduate or equivalent plus two (2) years of experience in construction inspection, one (1) year of which shall have been in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection
  • Valid Drivers License and acceptable driving record
  • The ability to complete the following courses/certifications within 6 months of employment. Halff will provide required training:
Qualifications:
  • CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level I
  • CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I
  • CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I
  • CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection (required for inspection of all drilled shafts including miscellaneous structures such as sign structures, lighting structures, and traffic signal structures)
  • CTQP Final Estimates Level I
  • IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I
Certifications:
  • FDOT Intermediate MOT
  • Nuclear Radiation Safety
  • Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors
Other:
  • Complete the Critical Structures Construction Issues Self Study Course and submit the mandatory Certification of Course Completion form (for structures projects.
